Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individual with good interpersonal skills, to join the pharmacy team at St Georges university hospital NHS trust as a Band 2 pharmacy assistant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills in various areas of the pharmacy department. This band 2 role working full time (37.5 hours per week) and includes weekend and bank holidays. We look forward in receiving your application.


Main duties of the job
  1. Technical Services: MHRA licensed unit manufacturing aseptic preparations, chemotherapy, radiopharmacy and non-sterile creams, ointments, and suspensions.
  2. Pharmacy Pre-packing: Over labelling of medication, packing orders, receiving deliveries in our MHRA licensed pre-packing unit.
  3. Patient Services: Dispensing inpatient, outpatient, and discharge medication from one of our pharmacy locations. To carry out receptionist duties including attending inpatient and outpatient reception areas, answering simple phone queries.
  4. Pharmacy Procurement: Receiving deliveries, packing ward stock orders, placing wholesalers orders, processing invoices and general stock control duties.
  5. Homecare: Processing prescriptions, placing orders, processing invoices, liaising with patients, suppliers and other medical staff and financial reporting.
