This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly team within a busy department!

The successful applicant will undertake duties in support of the Pharmacist, Technicians, and Dispensers, primarily performing Reception Duties in the dispensary, accurately logging prescriptions onto the tracking system, being the friendly face at the Pharmacy hatch, handling calls and queries, and supporting Stores and Distribution duties.

Undertakes duties in support of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reception duties in dispensary
  • Packing, supply, and delivery of medicines to wards and departments
  • Receiving medicines into the department
  • Deal with queries and requests from patients and staff at the hatch & on the telephone
  • Verify the patient’s identity and the validity of the prescription, clarifying details about the prescription
  • Entering prescription details including discharge medication (TTO’s) onto the pharmacy computer tracking system, monitoring their progress and logging stages in the transaction process
  • Filing of paper records including sorting and filing the full range of prescriptions daily, weekly, and at the end of the month, year
  • Replenishment of dispensary stocks.
