Job description

Personal Tax Assistant Manager - Manchester

We are looking to recruit an experienced Personal Tax specialist at Assistant Manager level to be based in our clients brand new Leeds central office. This is a fantastic foot in the door to an amazing Top 15 firm, and you will become part of a fast-growing and dynamic Personal Tax Team.

You will be primarily focused on the provision of high-quality personal tax compliance. There will also be exposure and the opportunity to firm wide advisory work, including presentations and committees should you wish to!

As Personal Tax Assistant Manager you will be working with a varied portfolio of clients including individuals, trusts, partnerships and LLPs across a range of sectors, particularly landed estates and rural businesses. With your exposure and experience at Assistant Manager level, you will also support the development of more junior staff in on the job training and supervising new trainees to the business.

What do we require from you?

  • You will need to have experience of management, as you will be managing your own portfolio whilst also being responsible for reviewing the work of more junior tax staff.
  • You will need to be experienced in the delivery and management of personal tax compliance services.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to this role to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • For this role you will need experience in the provision of tax advice, including inheritance and capital gains tax planning, and trust planning. The exact mix of advisory will be tailored to the strengths of the individual, but a broad base is required to permit work in most if not all of the above areas.
