Job description

Reed Accountancy are representing a well-established firm in Ipswich to recruit a Tax Technician to support their expanding team. The team provides exceptional tax services to a varied clientele including wealthy individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file personal, trust, and estate tax returns, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit Probate Applications, liaising with HMRC and the Probate Registry regarding applications.
  • Support colleagues in managing estate administrations and producing Estate Accounts, as well as preparing Trust Accounts and registering Trusts with the Trust Registration Service.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to provide outstanding service, explaining complex tax issues to clients in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, interpreting and applying tax legislation effectively to client cases.
  • Maintain ATT qualification and engage in ongoing training to stay current with tax legislation and practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • ATT qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation and practical tax experience.
  • Familiarity with personal, trust, estate, VAT, and other relevant tax laws.
  • Proficiency in tax software, Microsoft Office, and tax compliance systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and client-facing tasks.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
