An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Access to Education Officer to support Traveller and Refugee families in accessing education. This role involves identifying young people in need, working collaboratively with schools and other professionals, and actively engaging with families to ensure their educational needs are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in education settings, understand the barriers faced by these communities, and possess excellent communication and time management skills. You will work as part of the Access to Education for Travellers and Refugees Team (Education Provision & Access, Childrens Services). We are a small, dedicated and well-established specialist team providing support to Traveller and Refugee families, schools, colleges and other professionals in accessing education (11-19) and maintaining attendance. We work closely with Traveller families who live in houses and also on the many Traveller Sites across Hertfordshire.
There are 2 Access to Education Officers within the Team, each covering agreed areas of the County. The 2 Services for Young People Personal Education Advisor (PA) within the Team work closely alongside these posts to support positive outcomes for Traveller and Refugee young people. Our Team receives Business Support from a dedicated officer.
