The Job
What is a PA? It’s not an office PA, and it’s not just a carer or support worker. It’s an exciting role where in time you become an essential member of the team. You will wear many hats; carer, companion, support worker, driver, physio, housekeeper, and chef, to name but a few. You’ll join an existing established supportive welcoming team and share the weekly responsibilities of enabling a man with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 to lead the life he wants and deserves.
He is a friendly, kind-hearted man with a good sense of humour. In time his carers become part of his extended family with existing staff having worked with him for 14 years or more.
We are not a company, it’s a private individual in his own home but you get employment rights like any other job. Your salary is funded by the NHS and DWP, this provides job and financial security.
42 hours per week on full time contract (or pro rata if job sharing) combination of days, nights, and shared weekends (1 in 4) with 12 - 48-hour shifts. Salary starting £25,000.00 per year with potential to earn £30,000+ when reach full role capabilities.
The type of person

A can-do caring attitude is important to us.
