Job description

Personal Assistant/Support Worker (BS3) - £12.60ph - 4hrs term time/10 hours school holiday - Bristol - BS3

Required for 18 year old in Ashton (BS3) for 4 hours per week during term time and 10 hours per week during school holidays.

Hourly rate of pay: £12.60ph

Availability: Working hours are to be agreed with the individual PA but are likely to include a Saturday morning and a weekday afternoon.

A PA is needed to support the client with independence skills including:

  • Independent travel skills
  • Road safety
  • Food preparation
  • Developing an understanding of money and its value
  • Support to access the community including youth clubs, visiting charity shops or meeting friends.
  • Record keeping - helping the client maintain accurate records of activities and expenditure

The ideal candidate will be kind, patient and supportive with the ability to communicate clearly and explain instructions clearly and patiently.

An interest in second-hand fashion and clothes, baking and a love of cats will also be welcomed!

Travel by bus will be required for accessing the community.

Previous experience and understanding of Autism is highly desirable.

Ensuring the client’s safety and well-being at all times is crucial.

Reliability and punctuality are key.

Role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references.
