Job description

Introduction

I am a 24-yr old man with a genetic condition, and I can become tired very quickly. I love going to the cinema and theatre along with spending time on my gaming platform. I enjoy being active and getting out and I am looking at getting back into swimming soon. You will be assisting me to have greater independence at home and in the community.

Duties

16 hours per week in total split over 4 days (Monday-Thurs). To assist with a variety of tasks which will support me to live an independent personal and social life. To provide assistance to myself enabling me to retain and increase my independence where possible, increasing my quality of life and respecting my freedom of choice, whilst minimising the risks to my health and wellbeing.

Domestic Duties:
  1. Shopping/or assisting with shopping
  2. Running errands, collecting and carrying things on their behalf
  3. Escorting me to the barbers
Social Duties:
  1. Acting as an escort to meetings, appointments and recreational visits such as swimming and the cinema
  2. These duties may vary from day to day

Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.

Hours

16 hours per week

Essential Requirements
  1. An understanding of social care
  2. Patience and good communication skills
  3. Physically fit and healthy to be able to adequately assist me
  4. Enhanced DBS required. Cost met by employer
  5. References from previous employers
  6. Excellent English skills (verbal and written)
  7. Understanding of confidentiality including confidentiality online
  8. Confident swimmer
Desired Experience

Experience in this type of work is preferred but not essential; more important is a fun personality, sense of humour and a relaxed attitude. If a driver, a full clean driving licence is required.
