Section 2 - Purpose of Job

The Collibra Data Governance Analyst role will report into the Collibra Community Manager. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of Collibra, a working knowledge of the Financial Services sector, and good knowledge of the many facets of data pertaining to data management, data quality, data analytics, and data visualisation.

Section 3 - Background

The Data Governance Team is a new function that sits within the EMEA Data Office, part of the Operations, Planning and Data Department, covering all EMEA entities (including Securities and Banking subsidiaries) and all datasets. This team is responsible for capturing and implementing the appropriate level of governance for all data across EMEA.

As part of this work, the EMEA Data Office has established a framework which encompasses cultural, behavioural, procedural, and system transformation to deliver the new strategy. This initially focuses on good governance by improved Data Architecture, Data Management, and Data Quality, but as we evolve, will focus more on how we can use Data to drive new ways of working and improved business outcomes.

The Data Governance Team sits within the EMEA Data Office which has grown significantly over the last 18 months to 50+ staff.

Section 5 - Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Support the Collibra Community Manager with all EMEA Community matters
  • Support Collibra stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for both EMEA Data Governance
  • Support the implementation of the data governance strategy and policy
  • Support the 'end to end' implementation of data governance, including establishing Collibra assets and the documentation of data standards and data governance processes
  • Collaborate with teams across the Division on the development and implementation of data standards and adoption requirements for EMEA Data
  • Participate in data governance and program forums to advance the robustness of the Bank-wide data governance framework
  • Collaborate with business, compliance, technology, and other groups to ensure that Collibra use case requirements are clearly defined
  • Establish consistent contact with all teams to provide updates, stay on track and report risks and issues timely with proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders

Section 6 - Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential:
  • Good all-round knowledge of and experience with Collibra DIC (Data Intelligence Cloud)
  • Certification to at least Data Steward level on Collibra University
  • Working knowledge and understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, profiling, analysis, and data management tools.
  • Ability to consider the broader perspective, rather than simply a siloed or business unit-focused view
  • Analytically minded with the enthusiasm to solve problems and deliver solutions
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills to communicate within working groups
  • An understanding of Physical, Logical, and Conceptual Data Models
  • An understanding of BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Proven ability as a team player, while retaining the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with little supervision and see challenges through to resolution
  • Confident manner and strong presentation skills
  • Educated to degree level in any subject or relevant industry experience, preferably in a quantitative discipline

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of DAMA, DCAM or other industry Data Management framework
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and issues within the Data Management landscape
  • Knowledge of data-related regulatory requirements
  • Experience working in regulated working environments, ideally within financial services
  • Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and SharePoint
  • Exposure to Data Engineering / Data Science
  • Proficiency in reading and writing Japanese

Section 7 - Challenges
  • This is a green field opportunity where capability is being built from scratch
  • Data Management/Governance is a new concept within the organisation - therefore good project and communication skills are required
