Job Summary

POP Wharfedale Theatres, Scrub and Anaesthetics

It is a busy, self-contained surgical day unit (Elective care Hub) at Wharfedale General Hospital in the market town of Otley outside Leeds.

Now is an exciting time to join us as we have recently opened 2 new operating theatres so expanding in both size and in the complexity of cases we deliver.

Our patients receive a high standard of care from a highly motivated, forward-thinking team. We have supportive management who take a vested interest in their colleagues. We cover a wide range of specialities which results in a varied and interesting workload, no two days are the same. There is the opportunity to keep skills up to date in anaesthetics, scrub and recovery.

Main duties of the job

To provide and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for the Peri-operative patient. To carry out all relevant forms of care competently without direct supervision.

Communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and promote effective team working.

To assist with the teaching and supervision of learners and other staff. The jobholder will work within an environment caring for peri-operative patients.
