An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RMN to join our expanding Perinatal Mental Health Team. The posts are available at our Cluster 1 team based at Laureate House, Wythenshawe Hospital.
We are seeking a compassionate, person-centred individual, with a genuine interest in working with women and birthing people, and their families in the perinatal period, who has excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills.

The Perinatal Service is commissioned to support women and birthing people throughout Greater Manchester, who experience moderate to severe mental health problems during and after pregnancy, and for their infant up to the age of one year. The Perinatal Service provides assessment, care and treatment including the prevention, detection and management of maternal mental health problems that complicate pregnancy and the postpartum year.
Due to the expansive geography of this service, the post holder should hold a valid driving license.
The successful applicant will be responsible for a caseload of women and birthing people experiencing perinatal mental illness, working as a Perinatal Practitioner in partnership with service users and other professionals, managing and coordinating complex packages of care for both mother/birthing person and infant.
The post holder will work in a variety of settings completing routine and urgent assessments of women to assess mental health, risk, and safeguarding.
The post holder will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in Early Attachment services, IAPT services, maternity services, health visiting, and children's services.
There is also a duty worker element to this role, which will be carried out to support the Referral/assessment system.

Work as an autonomous Perinatal Practitioner with a defined caseload, ensuring the ongoing assessment of women/birthing people within the service and providing a range of needs-led interventions and care.
To aid the identification and treatment for the mental health needs of pregnant women/birthing people and those with infants up to one year old.
To work in collaboration with both colleagues from Adult Mental Health services and staff from other perinatal services.
To work collaboratively with Specialist Midwifery, Children and families services, Early attachment services, Perinatal IAPT and VCSE across Greater Manchester.
The post holder will work in a variety of settings undertaking assessments, using the agreed processes for women/birthing people with serious mental health conditions who have been referred to the team.
They will also deliver interventions and in collaboration with service users and family develop individualised care plans ensuring that high quality care is delivered at all times.
There is also a duty worker element to this role, which will be carried out to support the Referral/assessment system.
