Performing Artist in Residence

Part time (24 hours per week), TERM TIME ONLY, FIXED TERM until 8th July 2026. Start date – 1 September 2025. Support Staff Grade 3 - £26,443 to £29,896 pro rata.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside our vibrant and ambitious Music and Drama departments at Norwich High School. While experience as a performing musician would be desirable, this is not a pre-requisite for the post. We are seeking someone who is creative, hard-working, well-organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Initiative and motivation are essential qualities.

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Setting up music/drama lessons and rehearsals
  • Assisting with the music library and cataloguing of music
  • Helping at concerts, recitals, and school performances (which often fall out of hours)
  • Monitoring, moving, and setting up musical equipment including leads, stands, drum kits, amplifiers, recording equipment, etc.
  • Liaising with Visiting Music Teachers
  • Keeping records of instrumental timetables and ensemble registers
  • Assisting the Drama Department in rehearsals, productions, and performances as required

This is a part-time position (24 hours per week), working during school term time only, plus 10 days during the school holidays. It is fixed term until 8th July 2026. The salary is Grade 3 on the GDST regional scale.
