Role Purpose:
GB Bank is seeking a People Operations Lead (HPO) to work with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the wider People team to ensure the People Strategy supports the Organisational Strategy driving a high performing and engaging working environment.
The People Operations Lead runs the People Operations function and team in a fast-paced environment, specifically covering a wide range of customer driven services including People Services, focusing on continuous improvement to support the delivery of the organisation’s people priorities of leadership, development and talent, wellbeing, employee engagement and diversity and inclusion.
Key areas of responsibility:
Data, Analytics and Systems
- Design, monitor, and improve People processes, policies, and technologies, including internal People systems
- Ensure and maintain the accuracy of all people data designing data management processes which meet GDPR and data privacy standards
- Create a programme of automation ensuring employees can self-serve in transactional processes where possible
- Ensure that accurate and up to date People data is produced for reporting and analysis in a timely manner and highlighting trends and making recommendations on performance improvement
- Collaborate with the People Business Partner to compile and present data and reports to senior stakeholders demonstrating a deep understanding of the business, challenges and opportunities in influencing the change agenda and investment in initiatives which drive performance
- Continually assess and improve data, processes and systems in driving efficiency and performance in the business
- Manage HR technology suppliers to ensure KPIs are met
People Operations
- Ensure all employee lifecycle processes are carried out to SLAs such as Starters, Movers, Leavers and managed and monitored meeting all data and security standards
- Ensure high levels of engagement from Day 1 and exceptional employee experience in the delivery of all people processes such as onboarding
- Support the continuous improvement of People processes, policies and procedures and ensuring processes are correctly mapped out, documented and implemented through technology
- Oversee a fully efficient and timely payroll and service which is streamlined and effective, ensuring correct processing and payments are made in line with financial regulation and statutory legislation
- Manage legal, benefits and technology suppliers to ensure a successful relationship
Reward, compensation and benefits
- Carry out salary benchmarking at regular intervals ensuring equality, competitiveness and alignment to policy across fixed pay
- Ownership of all regulatory and statutory pay reporting leading in areas which will enhance employee engagement and employer brand – even if not a legislative requirement
- Administrative management of any equity related schemes promoting the benefits of this reward and meetings all scheme requirements and standards
Performance Management
- Co-develop and implement an innovative yet simple Performance Management system which drives and manages performance and motivates individual and team performance
- Through collaboration, advice and guidance, enable a performance culture and a strong ethos of accountability for results, setting high expectations, supporting development, and rewarding contribution
- Manage the administration and record-keeping associated with performance management including related-variable pay ensuring all compliance and regulatory standards are met and reported
Compliance
- Ensure the organisation complies with our policies and both legal and SMCR regulations, advising on employment law where necessary
- Collaborate with the People Business Partner in the development of policies and procedures where appropriate
- Oversight and ownership of people compliance activities such as fitness and propriety, vetting, SMCR and all other legislative requirements
Engagement, well-being and diversity
- Support and guide People Leaders through change ensuring smooth transitions and effective change implementation
- Ensure all policies and processes meet ED&I standards and create a culture of inclusion, openness and transparency
- Champion employee engagement by implementing measures to monitor and drive enhanced employee engagement and satisfaction
- Work alongside the People team, Culture Activists and the Leadership Team to foster a positive workplace culture and improve employee engagement

- Experience in working with data including analysing, interpreting and creating reports for internal use

- Experience of leading and developing people
- Excellent operational process experience
- Experience of banking regulation (SMCR) is ideal
