The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 570 years, and today we are delighted to rank in the top 100 of universities worldwide in both the Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People and OD Systems and Data Insights Partner to join the University’s People and Organisational Development (P&OD) Team.
This role involves delivering data-driven insights and recommendations to aid strategic decision-making and advance P&OD initiatives. The successful candidate will embody our University Value of ‘Curiosity and Discovery’ by leveraging data to innovate and address challenges.
Reporting to the People and OD Operations Manager, and working closely with the P&OD leadership team, acting in a leading capacity, your role will primarily focus on maintaining data quality and integrity, as well as collecting, analysing, and interpreting people-related data to identify trends, correlations, and patterns related to P&OD metrics and key performance indicators.
Additionally, you will identify and lead on opportunities to improve P&OD systems, processes, and initiatives that will support the P&OD function and its client base. This will include participating in P&OD projects related to data analytics, including people-related system implementations, process improvements, and automation.
With a proven track record of using data analysis and insight to inform decision making, you will have the ability to present data in an easily digestible format with dashboard functionality via appropriate tools e.g. using business intelligence and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. The successful candidate will be skilled in data analysis, modelling, visualisation, interpretation and synthesis, drawing on multiple sources to generate trends, patterns and insights.
You will have a comprehensive specialised knowledge of integrated HR/Payroll Systems and management reporting software, and a thorough conceptual understanding of relational databases.
Key to this role will be your ability to think strategically and to maintain sight of the big picture when considering priorities and delivering insight, as well as an ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
