Job Description
Vertex is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Operations leader who is passionate about delivering exemplary employee experiences. The People Experience Associate Director will serve as our International People Experience Lead, based out of our International Headquarters in London. They will be responsible for ensuring all ex-US HR operations run smoothly and efficiently, while maintaining full compliance with local laws and regulations. This role will collaborate across Vertex teams and channels to improve business process efficiencies and their associated success measures and service level agreements. Additionally, this individual will develop broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge in global HR organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to further process harmonization and improvement to support the HR service delivery evolution. Current initiatives include international benefits enrollment optimization and new market entry.
- Implement creative, sustainable, global, and multi-channel solutions to support our digital service transformation and ensure a positive employee experience.
- Advance and resolve service, process, and system design and performance issues escalating them to the respective internal and external stakeholders and supporting their resolution.
- Stay informed of changing laws and legislation and ensure HR policies and practices remain compliant globally.
- Continue to drive our knowledge first approach, ensuring compliance with our operational knowledge management governance and framework, and ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and process maps are kept current.
- Partner with ER lead to establish Employee Relations framework for ex-US operations.
- Educate HR colleagues on HR service and process portfolio to ensure compliance with applicable company policies, controls, and governmental regulations.
- Create and facilitate training for the broader HR team on the expanded service portfolio to drive adoption and adherence to established processes.
- Partner across HR and the business to facilitate continuous improvement and identify opportunities for enhancements.
- Drive HR Operating model through targeted change management, platform/process viability and operational excellence across service delivery teams.
- Establish strong and trusted relationships across all geographies, levels, and functions.
- Monitor and act on employee feedback and survey responses.
Required Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, HR or a related field.
Required Experience
- Substantial relevant work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge/Skills
- Experience working in global HR Shared Services and/or Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits).
- Demonstrated ability to establish and refine global HR processes to create efficiencies, ensure compliance and enhance the employee experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills across cultures, locations, and management levels.
- Highly skilled at translating business needs and compliance requirements into clear technical requirements, work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Very strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong project management expertise.
- Strong organization skills and must have ability to prioritize confidential workload and multi-task.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Experience with a case and knowledge management system such as ServiceNow strongly preferred.
- 5-10% Travel.

Flex Designation: Remote-Eligible
Flex Eligibility Status: In this Remote-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Remote: work remotely five days per week and come into the office on occasion – you’re always welcome on-site;
2. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week;
3. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
