Business Manager at The Search: Finding forward-thinking People Leaders

Job Title: People Director

Speak To: Karolina Stastna at The Search (We are representing this client as a search firm)

Location: Leeds, UK – Hybrid with 3 days per week in office

Who Are They?

  • PE-Backed scaling Tech business based in Leeds
  • 250 FTEs currently, with plans to scale to 350/400 in 2025 and continue growing from there, including European expansion
  • Newly appointed leadership including a CEO who is culture-focused and wants to build an amazing place to work
  • Original founder still involved in the day to day running of the business

The role:

  • People Director reporting into the CEO, part of the Exec team
  • Leading a team of 5 with plans to grow but maintaining a lean and impactful team with empowered and up skilled managers taking the lead on performance
  • Highly impactful & strategic role, crucial for setting the business up for scale
  • Highly diverse workforce, mission driven, the business attracts great talent but there is a need for strategic retention, development and succession planning

What are we looking for?

  • Passionate, ambitious and ready for challenge
  • Strategic leader who understands what good looks like and can apply this to early stage scale up with ability and drive to implement new/improved process and policies
  • Thought partner to the leadership with ability to influence and navigate the business needs whilst translating these to People Agenda
  • Strong leadership coach with ability to up skill and empower management
  • Private Equity & Tech background is highly advantageous, keen interest in self-development, AI and best practice in technology scale ups is a must
  • Experience scaling businesses at pace (from early hundreds up to 1k mark in headcount) essential
