We are seeking to appoint a PE Teaching Assistant (Student Support Mentor) to support the PE faculty and to also work alongside our Student Support Team, which is integral to the school’s vision to ensure young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

What We Offer:

At Caludon Castle, we pride ourselves on providing a workplace where our staff feel valued, supported, and have the opportunity to professionally grow. Here, you’ll be part of a community that celebrates innovation and ambition – whether you're just starting your career or are an experienced leader.

Employee Benefits Include:

  • Supportive and collaborative team: Flourish in a strong, team-oriented environment where staff morale is high, and professional relationships are nurtured.
  • Technology-rich environment: Work with cutting-edge facilities, including access to an iPad, and benefit from modern, technology-enhanced teaching spaces.
  • Work-life balance: Take advantage of a range of wellness and wellbeing initiatives, such as access to an on-site gym, swimming pool, and a cycle-to-work scheme, all designed to promote your physical and mental health.
  • Great perks: Enjoy free parking, an employee discount scheme, and the chance to work in an environment where your wellbeing and professional growth are a top priority.

About the role:

This is a unique opportunity to combine providing effective and efficient support for the learning and teaching of PE whilst gaining an insight into the role of a Student Support Mentor. You will be providing specialist support to students across all areas of sport and leisure, managing and organising equipment, kit and fixtures. A key aspect of this role is also to be a lifeguard supporting the annual swimming timetable. As you develop your skills you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with students as needed and to mentor a small group of students to help them achieve their termly targets.

Our ideal candidate:

You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated, resilient and able to support our vulnerable students as well as our most able, encouraging them to become independent learners. Ideally you will be talented in a particular sporting field.

Through the leader in our student support faculty and the PE Faculty Leader, we will provide comprehensive induction training so that you can shadow our other staff, get a really good understanding of our systems and policies and have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know our students during your induction programme.

The successful candidate will be an effective team player who is driven to provide the best outcomes for the students by supporting staff and each other. They will have the ability to manage and prioritise their time successfully and be able to communicate clearly and confidently with staff and students. The ideal candidate will be interested in continuing their own learning, exploring the variety of facets of the role in order to offer the best supportive solutions for staff and students. This fulfilling role will provide a wealth of developmental opportunities. Every day will be different and we will play to your strengths.

Caludon Castle has a great deal to be proud of. We are the kind of place people want to work with a meaningful focus on excellence and a desire to continuously improve. If you have the passion and determination to be a valued part of our team, we would love to hear from you.
