Secondary PE Teacher (Mainstream School)

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Job Description:
A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in South London is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join their team on a temporary agency basis from 22nd April 2025. The successful candidate will teach a variety of PE lessons, including some dance, to secondary school students. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher passionate about physical education and sport, and who thrives in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality PE lessons across a range of year groups, with a focus on engaging and inspiring students.
• Teach some dance lessons as part of the PE curriculum.
• Complete lesson planning and marking to ensure a consistent and effective learning experience for students.
• Parent consultations where applicable, providing feedback on student progress.
• Take on the responsibility of a tutor group, supporting students' pastoral care and academic development.
• Participate in break duty once per week to support student welfare.
• Provide general cover for classes when not teaching PE.

Requirements:

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education, with the ability to teach dance.
• Previous experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting is desirable.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• A commitment to promoting positive student outcomes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
