PE Graduates Cover Supervisors & Teaching Assistants
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £94 - £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you a passionate PE graduate seeking hands-on experience in secondary education?

GSL Education seeks enthusiastic and proactive PE Graduates to join schools in Barnsley as Cover Supervisors or Teaching Assistants. Whether you're considering a future in teaching or looking to develop your skills in a school setting, this is an excellent opportunity to step into the classroom as a Cover Supervisor (CS) or Teaching Assistant (TA) for Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a PE Graduate, you will support students across a range of subjects, with a particular focus on physical education and sports. You will gain valuable experience managing a classroom, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and assisting students with learning and development.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole-class lessons across various subjects in the absence of the teacher.
• Provide classroom and sports-based support to students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Assist with PE lessons, extracurricular activities, and school sports events.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure a structured learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to support individual student needs.

Requirements:

• A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• A passion for working with young people and supporting their development.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• The ability to manage a classroom and promote positive behaviour.
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
• A proactive and adaptable approach to working in different school environments.
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
