Exciting Opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist!

Are you ready for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of a supportive team of dedicated pharmacy professionals? Whether you're looking for part-time or full-time hours, we have the perfect role for you!

We are seeking a passionate Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, with pathways to becoming a prescriber and an advanced practitioner in long-term conditions.

If you're eager to advance your career in an innovative and forward-thinking environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Our current team is made up of 15 pharmacists and 5 pharmacy technicians and we pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive team ethos. We have excellent, robust clinical governance procedures in place with a team of senior clinical pharmacists and a GP lead providing regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and training. Rushcliffe PCN consists of 11 practices which are all fully engaged with the PCN pharmacy team and provide supportive integration of these roles into practice. Partners Health is the GP federation for Rushcliffe and the employer for all additional roles within the PCN.

Main duties of the job

The clinical pharmacist will work as part of the general practice team within their clinical competencies to provide expertise in clinical medicines management across a range of aspects such as day-to-day medication-related queries, acute prescription requests, supporting hospital discharge prescribing arrangements and follow-up, actioning of MHRA alerts, and targeted medication reviews which may be done over the telephone or face-to-face. You will be expected to help in streamlining processes and developing protocols to allow for safer prescribing and to meet CQC expectations.

You will act as a specialist resource to answer medicines-related queries, to signpost to other services, and to liaise with other healthcare professionals as required. Clinical supervision and mentorship will be provided by the clinical lead GP and the senior clinical pharmacist.

About us

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic self-starters and who are adaptable to change. You will have excellent communication skills and be proactive in approaching patients, carers, colleagues, and other agencies as and when needed. It is expected that you will be able to use your initiative to gather information and to use the resources that are available to you, such as prescribing guidelines. Being a team player is essential. A good level of competence in the use of I.T., predominantly SystmOne, is required.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive practice team and the wider PCN pharmacy team in order to deliver safe and effective use of medicines by applying their clinical, pharmaceutical, and technical skills to a variety of tasks within the medicines optimisation agenda.

This role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies, so requires motivation and passion to deliver an excellent service within general practice.

If you are a forward-thinking individual who is keen to develop in this role, we want to hear from you!
