Job Description

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their growing company. The ideal candidate will oversee payroll operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. This role includes managing payroll records, preparing tax filings, supporting audits, and serving as a key resource for payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Conduct both union and non-union weekly payroll.
  • Handle payroll taxes and deductions.
  • Calculate overtime, vacation, and holiday pay.
  • Manage payroll accounts and records.
  • Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs).
  • Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations.
  • Support year-end payroll tasks and issue tax forms.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR teams.
  • Assist with payroll system updates and audits.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of payroll experience.
  • Union experience.
  • Payroll certification (PCP or CPM) preferred.
  • Knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Workday).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-provincial payroll is a plus.
