Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their dynamic payroll department, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. This role is pivotal in delivering an efficient and effective payroll support service.

Rate £25,500

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Liaising with temps and internal/external customers, answering their queries with a friendly approach.
2. Accurately inputting data in a timely manner to ensure all deadlines are met.
3. Calculating Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Maternity Pay (SMP) along with all other statutory payments following set criteria.
4. Responding to inquiries from external agencies, such as the Inland Revenue and DSS.
5. Calculating additional payments and deductions as necessary.
6. Administering customer payroll information, including timesheets, new starter files, and payroll reports.
7. Handling errors and amendments with precision.
8. Complying with statutory and company payroll procedures and deadlines.
9. Maintaining confidentiality and urgency in all duties.
10. Upholding the company values and acting as an ambassador for the payroll team.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. Experience with UK payroll legislative requirements, including:
   • HMRC submissions
   • CMEC deductions
   • SSP/SMP & SSP deductions
   • Court Orders and other attachment of earnings
2. The ability to manually process Tax and National Insurance calculations, both for UK and Irish payroll.
3. A CIPP or equivalent qualification is essential.

Additional Information:

Occasional travel may be required (up to 20%).
