PAYROLL MANAGER - BELFAST - MATERNITY COVER

Hays are delighted to be working with a local voluntary organisation who continue to make a lasting difference to those who need it most. This role for a Payroll Manager to cover maternity leave.

Your new role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will manage the outsourced payroll contract for 1000 weekly and monthly staff for the group consisting of 3 companies. You will have up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and assist the wider finance team on all payroll-related matters. You will be the key point of contact dealing with the payroll provider and will work to drive improvement in payroll processing and reporting. You will manage all payroll-related services internally and ensure effective payroll controls, with policies and procedures in place and operating well. Responsibilities include all aspects of payroll-related financial control, month-end reconciliations, producing payroll reports, and working on any other payroll-related projects as they arise. You will keep up to date with any legislative changes relating to payroll and liaise with external agencies including pension providers, auditors, and HMRC.

What you'll need to succeed

1. Educated to GCSE
2. Educated with 2 A-levels or 5 years' payroll experience
3. Minimum 2 years' experience working in a large complex payroll function and experience with computerised payroll systems
4. Working knowledge of UK PAYE
5. Proficient with MS Office
6. CIPP qualification would be an advantage
7. SAGE payroll qualification would be beneficial as well as SAGE 50 payroll experience
