Job description

Are you a Payroll and HRIS specialist looking for a new opportunity? As our Payroll and HRIS Specialist, you will report to the Head of HR Operations and be the bridge between the People and Finance teams. You will focus on ensuring that payroll is delivered accurately and efficiently for approximately 650 people, across the UK, by preparing and processing all the information. You will own the relationship with our HR Information Systems (PeopleXD) and also look at developing our systems and processes ensuring that functionality and permissions are working alongside overseeing data and reporting making recommendations. Experience of using Power BI would be an advantage.

The Role

  1. Collect, analyse, and validate payroll data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  2. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to track key payroll and HR performance indicators.
  3. Identify trends and patterns to proactively identify areas for process improvement, cost savings, or compliance enhancements.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to gather data requirements and streamline data flows.
  5. Conduct regular audits of payroll and HR data to identify discrepancies or errors and implement corrective actions.
  6. Prepare, create and distribute reports to stakeholders from HRIS, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information.
  7. Perform data reconciliations between payroll and other systems, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  8. Stay updated with payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements to ensure data accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  9. Support system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements by providing data analysis and testing expertise.
  10. Assist with ad-hoc data requests and provide data-driven insights to support HR and payroll-related decision making.
  11. Prepare and submit payroll including producing reports providing payroll analytics.

About You

You’ll have experience working with computerised payroll systems and Microsoft office programs, including advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL skills alongside the ability to process manual payroll calculations. CIPD equivalent qualification would be a distinct advantage but not necessary. You will have an eye for detail and enjoy data analysis and be comfortable with data manipulation software and be able to produce reports and interpret data making recommendations based on the reports.
