Job Description

Join our team as a Payments Control Manager - Vice President, where you will be instrumental in shaping a proactive risk and control culture. Your expertise will drive the accuracy and compliance of regulatory reports across multiple regions, including Asia, Latin America, North America, and Canada. With approximately 2,300 reports to manage, your role is crucial in navigating diverse regulatory requirements and ensuring timely submissions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our risk management processes and safeguard our organization's reputation.

As a Payments Control Manager Vice President in Controls within the Regulatory Operations Team, you will supervise the final stages of compiling regulatory reports, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of each country. You will work closely with various departments, including lending, wealth management, and payments, to gather and compile data into comprehensive reports. This role offers the opportunity to lead risk and control initiatives that reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound Risk and Control management protocols, review and analyze program-related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support business-related programs and strategies.
  • Provide leadership support for the end-to-end execution of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment, including control breaks and resolutions.
  • Engage with control colleagues across the firm, business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology control functions.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance risk management processes and controls.
  • Help design and implement risk and control frameworks, governance, and metrics (e.g., KRI, KPI).
  • Manage control-related activities, including risk/control identification and assessments, operational risk events and issue management.
  • Drive remediation, efficacy, and sustainability of control changes due to ineffectiveness or regulatory/policy changes.
  • Oversee Audit/Compliance/Regulatory reviews.
  • Perform root cause assessments and recommend effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Provide guidance with respect to corporate policies, risk and control management.
  • Partner effectively with colleagues across the firm, including Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Technology control functions to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk & Control Self-Assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective mitigations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience with cross Line of Business (LOB) engagement models.
  • Familiarity with groups within JPMC is advantageous.
