Patisserie Production Assistant

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Patisserie Production Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the production of our award-winning cakes, biscuits and puddings is carried out efficiently, safely and to the highest standard at all times.

SALARY: £11.90 p/h (overtime paid at same rate)
HOURS: 45H - Monday-Friday working pattern (9-hour shifts falling between the working hours of 5:00 and 17:00). Weekend work as and when required (during peak periods, usually in the lead-up to Christmas and shared rotationally amongst the team).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to: Head Pastry Chef

FOOD
• To execute all products as per company specifications
• To handle and treat the food as if it were your own
• To execute all food preparation in a timely and professional manner
• To adhere to the organic standards as set out by the Soil Association
• To contribute to the award-winning standard of all Daylesford Organic products

OPERATIONS
• To ensure that all ingredients are prepared, weighed and measured ready for production
• To ensure cleaning rotas are adhered to at all times
• To complete all tasks efficiently within the timeframe given

NUMBERS
• To work safely and efficiently to ensure that all daily orders are completed above the required fulfilment rate
• To minimise wastage levels as much as possible
• To comply with the Bakery internal and external audit requirements
• To aid the Head Pastry Chef in the fulfilment of the production unit’s annual financial/budgetary targets

PEOPLE
• To participate in the effective communication amongst the team regarding any changes to recipes, procedures and/or operational needs, and amongst the company and other customers regarding any quality issues/shortages in the required timescale.
