Burghley House is a fabulous Tudor mansion situated just outside Stamford, Northamptonshire and is home to the world-famous Burghley Horse Trials. The food and beverage offering at Burghley is diverse, consisting of The Orangery Restaurant, The Garden Cafe and The Shed, along with bespoke events and weddings.

The Role:
As a Pastry Chef, you will take ownership of all aspects of baking and dessert preparation. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase your creativity, precision, and passion for pastry while contributing to an exceptional dining experience at one of the most stunning heritage locations in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, cookies, brownies, and other desserts to the highest standard.
• Conduct stock checks, manage inventory, and order necessary ingredients to ensure a seamless workflow.
• Accurately weigh and measure ingredients for all recipes.
• Decorate and present pastries and desserts using creative techniques, sauces, and toppings.
• Contribute innovative ideas to menu development, reflecting seasonal and customer trends.
• Maintain accurate records of recipes, orders, and kitchen operations.
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work environment, adhering to food safety standards.

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, with a strong portfolio of baked goods and desserts.
• A passion for creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Flexibility to adapt to menu changes and customer preferences.
