Position Overview:

Working assigned shifts, you will be responsible for patrolling the campus, monitoring surveillance cameras, and completing written reports. You will be expected to perform regular patrols and interact with students, staff, and members of the public to provide direction and promote good customer service while providing a security presence.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites, patrol assigned areas to monitor activities, and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.
2. Maintain written reports.
3. Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers, and the public.
4. Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports.
5. Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
6. First aid – be prepared to administer when required.
7. Maintain a positive, productive work environment through collaboration.
8. Perform miscellaneous job–related duties as assigned.

Please note, students currently enrolled with St. Clair College are not eligible to apply for this position.

Job Requirements:

1. Must possess Ontario Security Guard License.
2. First Aid & CPR – Level C.
3. Valid G Class Ontario Driver's License & Drivers Abstract.
4. Vulnerable Sector Check.
5. Post-Secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
6. Physical Demands include excessive walking and standing.
7. Patrol area on foot and vehicle as assigned to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
8. Utilize radio and computer applications for communicating site activities.
9. Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
10. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
11. Must possess excellent computer skills.
12. Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact, and diplomacy.
13. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

At the time of the interview, the applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

1. Covid Vaccine's Record.
2. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
3. Proficient in English (both oral and written).

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:

1. First Aid & CPR – Level C.
2. Management of Aggressive Behavior.
3. Use of Force.
4. Report Writing.
5. Additional courses as assigned.

Certification Requirements (All):

1. Standard First Aid, CPR Level C.
2. Valid Ontario Security License.
