Sulets is an educational charity. Our mission is to raise standards in accommodation for the students of Leicester and to be honest, transparent and fair in our actions and to enhance the student experience. We are the only Student Accommodation Agency who are recommended by the Student Unions at De Montfort and Leicester Universities for student housing.

We are recruiting for a Part Time Property Management Officer to assist us with housing students in our accommodation.

Role:

Hours: 25 per week. Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 3.00 pm or 10.00 am to 3.00 pm (includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)

Responsibilities:

  • To manage a defined property portfolio of student housing.
  • To manage all repairs relevant to your property portfolio, allocating jobs to relevant tradespeople and following up with contractors and tenants to ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard.
  • To deal with minor complaints and problems and to effectively signpost any complex queries and complaints on the telephone, by email and in person.
  • To obtain relevant safety certificates for each let including EPCs, Gas Safety Certificates and Electrical Safety documents and to regularly audit these to ensure their validity.
  • To provide front of house service, as part of the team, dealing with student and landlord enquiries.
  • To maintain the Agent OS and Stu Rents databases in accordance with the Lettings website ensuring all property landlord and tenant information is accurate and up to date relevant to your own portfolio.
  • To carry out property condition and interim inspections, check ins and outs on properties as directed by the Senior Property Management Officer.
  • To assist with property viewings at busy times.
  • To maintain the key system, ensuring an accurate record of their whereabouts by using appropriate signing system.
  • To prioritise emergency situations as appropriate.
  • To work flexibly during key letting periods, November to February and July to September.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a fully valid driving licence and have a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Must have experience in Lettings/Accommodation in a Property Management role.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Good general education including Maths and English at least to GCSE grade C

Desirable

  • Related educational or professional qualification

Experience:

Essential

  • Experience of working within lettings or property industry
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Methodical approach to working and good attention to detail
  • A good grasp of figures
  • Experience of using property/bespoke software

Desirable

  • Experience of working within student accommodation
  • Good general knowledge of local area, specifically student related

Skills/Abilities

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills using MS Office software, including Excel
  • Be able to prioritise workload effectively and efficiently, meeting deadlines as required
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • Ability to work under own initiative and have a pro-active approach to tasks
  • Experience of dealing with difficult customers

Desirable

  • Excellent presentation skills
