Job description

The role - Part-time Legal Secretary

Location - Aberdeen City Centre

Pay rate - £15.00 per hour

Hours - 20 hours per week (flexible working pattern)

Office Angels are in search of an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join a well-established Scottish law firm based in the heart of Aberdeen City Centre. As the role is based on 20 hours per week, there is a lot of flexibility around how the hours are worked. Possible combinations are 3 full days or 5 mornings/5 afternoons or accommodation of school hours. Our client is open to discussion around a working pattern which suits the individual.

The ideal candidate will be from a Conveyancing or Private Client background but if you are experienced within a different sector of the law my client may still consider your application.

One of the main tasks within the role is Audio Typing and therefore we are only able to consider candidates who have this experience.

In this role you will be required to confidently provide secretarial support and manage all conveyancing documentation/proceedings, whilst prioritising your workload effectively.

What your day will look like:
  1. Preparing and registering Dispositions
  2. Preparing Discharges & LBTT documentation
  3. Ordering redemption statements
  4. Dealing with post-completion follow up documentation
  5. Audio & Copy typing
  6. Lodging Advance Notices
  7. Updating clients on the progress of their case
  8. Liaising with other parties to ensure deadlines are met

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Have previous experience and knowledge of conveyancing work within the Scottish legal system
  2. Knowledgeable in LBTT
  3. Copy/audio and dictation experience
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office - including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
