Finance Assistant - Part time (20 hours per week Monday to Friday) - £18,500


Acorn by Synergie is seeking a competent candidate capable of taking on the complete accounts role within the Company, reporting to the Managing Director. This is a varied and interesting role which encompasses a broad range of responsibilities.


Skills Required

  1. Min. 5 years' experience in the financial management of a small organisation
  2. Xero experience essential
  3. CIS experience and competency needed
  4. Salesforce experience desirable but not essential
  5. IT competence - can demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  6. Strong administrative and organisational skills
  7. A self-starter with independent judgement and work planning
  8. A team player with interpersonal skills for interaction with both colleagues/customers and suppliers
  9. Trustworthy and confidential
  10. Commercially aware

Responsibilities

  1. Ownership and maintenance of full purchase ledger
  2. Receiving and processing invoices
  3. Obtaining authorisations for payment from management
  4. Payment of suppliers
  5. Agree supplier statements to invoices received and raise queries for missing invoices
  6. Post purchase invoices to ledger accounts
  7. Email remittance advices to suppliers
  8. Preparing and submitting CIS Returns and distribution of sub-contractor monthly statements
  9. Registering subcontractors with HMRC
  10. Issue sales invoices to customers and enter onto sales ledger
  11. Maintain debtor's book with efficient Credit Control being essential
  12. Send out monthly customer statements
  13. Bank Reconciliation
  14. Monthly payment of PAYE/NIC/CIS to HMRC
  15. Preparation and checking quarterly VAT Returns on Xero and submission to HMRC
  16. Preparation of monthly Overheads/Budget Report for management
  17. Liaising with Managing Director and assisting accountants in preparation of year end accounts and other statutory deadlines
  18. Manage finance queries
  19. Assist with import procedure/documents for import of materials

Salary: £18,500 pa


Hours of work: Monday - Friday 10:00 to 14:00


Holidays: 23 days holiday including the days between Christmas and New Year in addition to Bank Holidays
