Clydebank Asbestos Group is a leading Scottish charity dedicated to providing support to victims of asbestos and silica-related diseases. We offer assistance in accessing welfare benefits, pursuing compensation claims, and campaigning for justice and legal reforms regarding asbestos and silica dust-related diseases. We collaborate with local Scottish and UK elected representatives, other charities, and campaign groups to ensure that the rights of asbestos and silica victims are protected and their voices are heard.
Position Overview:
CAG is seeking a committed and organised Administrative Assistant to provide vital administrative support to the charity. This role is part-time, with 3 working days per week, and will involve a variety of office-based tasks as well as some travel to assist with home visits. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. A driving licence and use of a car are essential for this position, as there may be occasions when the role involves assisting with home visits.

Part-Time Administrative Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Moira Anderson Foundation (MAF), a values-based charity that supports children and adults of all genders affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse. We are recruiting a Client Support Officer to work with adults. The work will take place from our hub in Buchanan Street, Glasgow, and also various GP practices in the Glasgow area. Initial training and induction will take place between Glasgow and Airdrie.
Warmth, empathy, and compassion are key attributes for this role. The Client Support Officer will possess a relevant qualification or have experience in working with adults who have experienced trauma, have experience of supporting vulnerable clients, and have a sound understanding of trauma and the issues that affect CSA survivors.
The post is funded for 21 hours per week in year 1 and 17.5 hours per week in year 2. We are optimistic that funding will be secured for the additional 3.5 hours in year 2, but it is not guaranteed. On-going funding will be sought to maintain this post beyond the initial 2-year period. The salary is £26,380 pro rata. Working days will be agreed to meet the needs of the service; some evening work will be required.
Induction training and clinical supervision will be provided, as well as enhanced employer pension contribution (following 3-month probationary period), death in benefit scheme, and attractive holiday leave benefits.

The Role
This role will lead on the development and delivery of Engender’s Equal Representation project. The post-holder will identify opportunities to influence policy and practice and advocate for changes within political parties, democratic institutions, and wider culture that will enable greater representation and participation of women in all their diversity. The role will support the realisation of Engender’s strategic aims and the post-holder will work closely with Engender colleagues to support the organisation's wider work.
The Candidate
The role requires knowledge of Scotland's political landscape and how political parties function coupled with an ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships. We value strategic thinking and the ability to provide vision and direction for initiatives.
An understanding of intersectional feminism and a strong commitment to promoting equality are essential.
The successful candidate should have experience of delivering training to a range of audiences.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing independent tasks and multiple priorities.

This is a full-time position of 35 hours per week (Engender is currently trialling a 4-day working week. During the trial, working hours will be reduced to 30 per week with no impact on salary. The outcome of the trial will determine whether Engender adopts this approach in the longer term.) This is a temporary post for 12 months and is not expected to be continued.

These maternity cover posts are a great opportunity to join CAPS’ Children and Young People’s small friendly team to provide individual advocacy to children and young people who are going through the Children’s Hearings system. CAPS is the main provider of advocacy for this issue to children and young people aged 5-18 in East Lothian and Midlothian. CAPS is also the alternate provider for this work in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, so travel to work in these areas will also be expected.
The focus of the work is the provision of independent advocacy to support children and young people to express their views and wishes when going through the Children’s Hearings process. Experience of working with children and young people is required as well as proven skills in communicating with them. Advocacy training will be provided.
This post will be subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for regulated work with children.
There will be a 4-month probationary period attached to these posts. Face-to-face work with children and young people is the focus of the role but some home working is also possible with the agreement of your line manager.
This post is fixed term for 12 months initially to cover maternity leave; however, it may continue thereafter subject to expansion of the CAPS’ Children’s team.

About the role
You will provide administrative support to the Scotland Clinical Service based within our Glasgow centre, which provides assessment and treatment to individuals who have survived torture.
You will play a key role in processing and responding to referrals, communicating with survivors and other agencies, as well as providing administrative support to the clinical team. You will book appointments and liaise with interpreters as well as dealing with general queries and updating records.
About you
You will have in-depth knowledge of administration systems and Microsoft packages, together with experience of working within a mental health or a clinical setting. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and work well under pressure.
