Company details and job overview:

Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a business that is based in the Burton in Kendal area. This company has been operating for over 20 years and has a turnover in excess of 55 million pounds. They are now recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on a part-time and permanent basis. You will work 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday. There is the option to work 3 or 4 days per week. The salary advertised is the full time equivalent, so please take this into account when applying for the job.

Your new role as the Accounts Assistant:

1. Assisting the Financial Controller with accounting duties
2. Deal with telephone queries from customers, suppliers and other third parties as required
3. Processing all invoices/credit notes and statements
4. Resolve any sales related queries identified by other staff such as raising credit notes
5. Reconciliation and processing of weekly expenses BACs payment
6. Posting of accounting journals into our accounting package Sun Systems
7. Allocate receipts on Sage to sales invoices
8. Matching, batching and inputting purchase invoices
9. Update, monitor and reconcile site fee income spreadsheets and nominal accounts
10. Ensure that customer’s balances reconcile to Sage
11. Raising sales invoices, ensuring VAT is applied correctly
12. Ensure suspense account is cleared monthly
13. Ensure jobs are completed within required timescales or if it cannot be achieved then ensure that is communicated as soon as possible

Experience & Skills required to apply:

1. Effective communication skills
2. Good literacy skills, with excellent organisation skills
3. Good IT skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
4. Excellent attention to detail
5. Ability to manage own workload
