Main purpose of the post
The main role of the Park Production Lead is to develop and maintain all elements of park production, including set dressing, set building, soundscapes and lightscapes as well as wider design elements such as painting and illustration. All of this is done in line with Bewilderwood's overall brand aesthetic and in accordance with the creative direction of the Head of Events and Park Production.
Staffing responsibilities
The Park Production Lead reports directly to the Head of Events and Park Production. They also take direction on technical and brand choices from the Parks Production Manager.
- To manage a program of park production works, which includes building new installations and maintaining existing installations.
- To keep records of each installation including a log of their schedule's maintenance and cleaning.
- To be an in-house expert on installations and work closely with the Head of Events and Park Production to design new installation concepts based on Bewilderwood stories.
- To manage all materials relating to park production including ordering supplies and ensuring value for money when working with suppliers.
- To arrange suitable storage and transport for materials that are not in use or are being delivered to other parks.
- To design and produce installations for the Christmas and Lantern Parade special events and any future special events.
Other duties
- To support the events team with design and building of storytelling sets.
- To support the events team with the production of trail pieces.
- To carry out all duties in accordance with the policies of BeWILDerwood.
- Upholding your legal duty to take care of your own Health and Safety and that of your colleagues.

Job Requirements
- Creative flair and imagination to work within the Events and Performance department.
- Understanding of outdoor theatre and performance and ability to work collaboratively with directors, producers and actors.
- The ability to manage multiple hands-on projects at any one time.
- The ability to be self-motivated and able to work productively on their own at times but must also be able to work productively with others.
- The vision to imagine and design concepts from scratch and from source material including novels and scripts.
- Knowledge and experience of working with different materials from wood to polystyrene.
- Experience of working within a project management framework in order to meet deadlines.
- Experience working to strict Health and Safety standards.
