Job description

We are currently recruiting for a talented experienced Paralegal to join our first class, specialist Family department based in Manchester. This position will support our Solicitors nationally in their handling of client matters, ensuring a pro-active and high level of client care and compliance with the National Practice Standards.

We’re looking for a technical Paralegal who has previous experience in a similar role, who is able to provide support and assistance to Solicitors and Associates in the running of cases which would include divorce, matrimonial finances, nuptial agreements and private children act matters for medium to high-net-worth individuals. The position would also involve regular client contact, therefore excellent written and oral communication skills would be paramount. We are ideally looking for a candidate who preferably has experience in private Family Law and not public law.

Other duties would include:

  1. Drafting correspondence, applications, statements, letters of instruction, briefs to Counsel, and preparing court bundles for approval.
  2. Competent typing skills (ideally proficient with Microsoft Office), with good attention to detail.
  3. Undertaking legal research, instructing counsel, and attending court to sit behind counsel.
  4. Organising files, assisting with diary management and legal support tasks (such as dictation, scanning, photocopying, and file review/closure).
  5. Ensuring both time recording and billing targets are met.

Previous family law experience is essential.
