Paralegal (Clinical Negligence)

Location: Southport/Hybrid

In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with our solicitors and senior solicitors, managing a caseload of clinical negligence cases under supervision. From legal research and drafting documents to liaising with clients, medical experts, and professionals, you'll play an integral part in delivering exceptional legal services and achieving the best outcomes for our clients.

Please note: This role requires a minimum attendance of 1 day in the office per week and we are not looking for fully remote candidates.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the delivery of all KPI targets set by the firm.
  • Progress cases in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner.
  • Liaise with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors, and insurers as directed.
  • Handle all aspects of pre and post issue procedures under supervision in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Complete all actions as per Proclaim Action List in a timely fashion.
  • Record time accurately.
  • Maintain client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements.
  • Report to Senior Lawyer as required.
  • Assist in the collection and collation of medical records.
  • Prepare client documents such as witness statements.
  • Manage a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases in the early stages and assist team members with tasks.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Desire to work in this area of law and preferably some experience.
  • Graduate, preferably with a law-related degree and/or professional qualification such as LPC or route to BAR or CILEX.
  • Desire and ability to take direction and supervision from team leader.
  • Proven legal and forensic skills.
  • Good research skills.
