Paralegal (Commercial) | London

We are Monex, a specialist in commercial foreign exchange. We offer a range of FX services aimed at corporate and institutional clients to manage foreign exchange exposure and international payments. Our team of experts provides personalized and proactive service, helping clients execute thoughtful FX strategies tailored to their specific business needs.

As part of the Monex SAB de CV financial group, we support over 70,200 clients worldwide, offering local expertise in various regions including the UK, Luxembourg, Canada, and Singapore. Our goal is to empower clients to make better-informed business decisions in a fast-moving and volatile market.

Department Overview

The Legal Department is responsible for advising MEL, MEM, MCI, MonFX and MESA as well as any newly set-up subsidiaries or sister companies including MESU, MESL, MTS and Monex Inc.

The Legal Department assists and advises on:
  1. transactional documentation including but not limited to, terms and conditions, margin facility agreements, derivatives documentation;
  2. commercial contracts, from outsourcing agreements to service provider contracts and IT licenses;
  3. default scenarios, disputes and litigation;
  4. regulatory issues;
  5. company secretarial function and general governance;
  6. data protection and privacy matters;
  7. general research and training to internal stakeholders;
  8. legal project management including managing external counsel / consultants.

Job Overview

The Legal and Regulatory Analyst is responsible for:
  1. assisting the key team members with any tasks that may be required and working on the day-to-day tasks;
  2. assisting on projects;
  3. assisting on the company secretarial and data protection function;
  4. managing administrative and ad-hoc tasks;
  5. undertaking research.

Business Knowledge / Technical Skills
  • Previous experience of working within in a financial services firm;
  • Proven track record of operating within a commercial environment;
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
  • Awareness of data protection laws, particularly GDPR;
  • Experience of navigating legal library databases;
  • High standard of oral & written English is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Reviewing NDAs in a timely manner;
  • Assisting establish process and general governance within the team;
  • Supporting general project work within the team including but not limited to Data protection, outsourcing activity, IP management, company secretarial items;
  • Conducting research;
  • Assisting on administrative tasks.
