Qualifications

  • At least 12 months experience in a family law team is preferable.
  • Experience with Case Management Systems and Legal Aid Portal is essential.

  • Assist the legal team with file management and client updates.
  • Communicate with courts and prepare documents for hearings.
  • Manage diaries and client appointments effectively.

Job description

My client, a successful Solicitors is currently looking for Paralegals to work in either their Liverpool city centre, Wirral or Crosby branches.


Role responsibilities:

  1. Opening files
  2. Day to day assistance for the team
  3. Updating clients on case progress
  4. Communicating with courts, experts and agencies
  5. Appointment making
  6. Taking and making calls
  7. Preparing bundles of documents for hearings
  8. Dealing with clients both in person and remotely where necessary
  9. General legal and admin support
  10. Diary management
  11. Attending court assisting counsel and/or clients
  12. Carrying out legal aid assessments and applications
  13. Taking client appointments and initial instructions

The right person for this job will:

  1. Be a self-starter and always ready to get involved
  2. Good with people
  3. Work well within a vibrant team
  4. Be flexible and able to accommodate client or team needs
  5. Have great time management skills and be able to prioritise heavy workloads
  6. It is preferable to have at least 12 months experience working in a family law team
  7. Experience of Case Management Systems and Laserforms (essential)
  8. Experience of Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS) (essential)
  9. Experience of Excel spreadsheets (desirable)
