Godalming Amateur Swimming Club is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic coach to oversee our Para Squad, and in conjunction with the Head Coach, organise and deliver the Squad’s swimming-related activities.

Role:

• Friday 6-7 pm at Godalming Leisure Centre

Qualifications:

Required qualifications include:

• Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award preferred (we will consider applications from a Level 2-qualified Swimming Teacher with progression to a Swimming Coach Certificate)
• Valid Swim England safeguarding certificate

Skills Required:

• Must have prior experience working with children with special needs, disabilities, and preferably those with cerebral palsy.
• Full commitment to attend all para galas entered by squad members.
• The ability to motivate and inspire swimmers to achieve their full potential.
• Excellent coaching skills and experience in coaching in appropriate swimming areas.

Main Duties:

You will oversee the Para Squad, in conjunction with the Head Coach, organise and deliver the Squad’s swimming-related activities including:

• Manage the swimming program for your squad and work in conjunction with Head Coach to develop a rolling 12-month training schedule.
• Work with your swimmers to set targets and support them to achieve these.
• Follow and promote Swim England’s Wavepower child protection policy.
