Panel Technician

Audi Preparation Centre, North Shields

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 7.30am - 4.00pm

Salary: up to £40,000 basic (Aluminium Accredited Tech) with an OTE of £46,000 at 100% Productivity. Bonus increases in line with increased productivity.

The Lookers Paint & Body Centre is recruiting for an experienced Panel Technician to play a vital role within our Bodyshop team. Working within a state-of-the-art Bodyshop, you will be tasked with repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer’s specifications.

Headed up by our fantastic manager Gary Willis who shares a wealth of experience within Lookers. You will receive training and guidance from the best! This role would suit somebody with an accident/cosmetic repair background, so this certainly is a great opportunity to develop your skills.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out a variety of panel repairs including Jig Work using the latest Car-O-Liner equipment as well as an element of Strip and refit on smaller repairs. Ideally certified to Aluminium Repair standard.
  • Work effectively as part of a team of skilled Bodyshop Technicians.
  • Full use of PPE and adherence to health and safety requirements when carrying out repairs.
  • Adhere to manufacturer repair guidelines when carrying out repairs.
  • Liaise with other internal colleagues to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ensure any administration or supporting documentation is produced in line with company process.
  • Ensure efficient working by adhering to defined repair completion times.
Requirements

For this role we are looking for someone who has had previous experience in a similar role and has completed a technician modern apprenticeship or equivalent. We would like you to have a working knowledge of automotive systems and the specific materials required for the repair process. You need to have an honest and diligent approach to work with the ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality of work. You will also need to have a full and valid UK driving licence.
