General Summary

As a Painter, you will perform painting duties on new and repaired products using 2 Pac epoxy paint systems and general machine paint standards. You will also conduct inspections, clean-ups, storage, and disposal of paint products, and operate various tools and equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

• Prepare and paint various surfaces including aluminum, cast iron, mild steel, stainless steel, and others as specified.
• Repair topcoats and prepare surfaces.
• Paint required galvanized surfaces per specification.
• Remove shop-applied protective coatings from equipment by sandblasting.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
• Clean up work areas, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare and submit requests for substitute materials.
• Determine and apply appropriate coating systems for painting ferrous metals.
• Maintain safety standards in the performance of duties.
• Determine appropriate colors and coatings for various surfaces.
• Clean, paint, and protect all components.
• Train others and be available for training.
• Drive company vehicles and perform reasonable tasks as requested.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

In Order To Succeed In This Role You

• Should have relevant trade qualifications and/or time served as an industrial painter.
• Should have considerable experience as an industrial painter.
• Must have knowledge of Health & Safety legislation related to industrial painting.
• Should have in-depth knowledge of painting methods and techniques.
• Must be able to demonstrate safe use, storage, and disposal of paint products.
• Should be able to undertake heavy manual labor activities.
• Should have previous experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing organization.
• Should be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Should have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Should have the ability to establish effective working relationships.
