Type: Full-time Permanent

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8 am – 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am – 3.30 pm

Overtime: Approx. 6 hours per week at time and a quarter

Salary: £27,300 - £32,175 negotiable, paid weekly plus overtime pay

Benefits: Closed 24th December until 2nd January, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private cash/health plan

Job Description: Sprayshop Manager required for a well-established manufacturing firm in commercial joinery. The role is to maximise throughput in the spray shop while maintaining the highest levels of quality, health, and safety. Work as part of the production management team to continuously improve all operations, processes, and procedures while ensuring effective communication with other departments.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage prep team (2 staff and sanding machine) and 2 spray booths with 4 sprayers
2. Order review in close collaboration with the Factory Scheduler
3. Ensure the highest levels of quality throughout, rejecting poor quality when necessary
4. Train employees to diversify skills in the department
5. Train new employees in the spray shop
6. Plan and organise spray shop workload in advance for each week
7. Increase efficiency of the department
8. Implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent wasted/down time
9. Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, keeping the area clean and safe
10. Ensure health and safety practices are observed
11. Maintain spray shop and paint stores in line with permits, ensuring correct stock levels and disposal of out-of-date stock
12. Perform any other reasonable duties that assist the company in attaining its business objectives

Qualifications: Previous experience with timber production is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
