We are aiming to recruit an enthusiastic B5 Physiotherapist to a 27.5 hours permanent post, within the Children's Physiotherapy Specialist Team (South).

We are seeking an eager, innovative, pro-active and motivated Physiotherapist to join our already passionate and dedicated Children's Community Physiotherapy team, who cover areas in West Cumbria.

Working as part of an integrated team with other specialist therapists, you will be required to lead in providing contemporary evidence based assessment, advice and therapy to children and young people with a range of needs, working with them, their families and supporting agencies.

You should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy.

You will be well supported within your clinical environment with regular management supervision, professional supervision, safeguarding supervision and your health and wellbeing conversations and be allocated a mentor.

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be required to travel independently as the role includes visiting children in clinics, at home and in the school setting, as well as to NHS bases around Cumbria to attend meetings and training or development.

The post involves assessing and providing advice and intervention for children and young people aged 0-19 years with a variety of developmental conditions. The post holder will offer guidance and support to colleagues in education in terms of Physiotherapy Programmes, equipment and moving and handling.

Person Specification

Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of a range of paediatric treatment techniques
  • Some knowledge of the appropriate legislation relating to children
  • Knowledge of current NHS trends which influence service provision
  • Post qualification training in paediatric therapy or techniques.

Qualifications

  • State registration
  • Degree or equivalent in PT
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Computer Literate
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Organisational skills demonstrated for example by the involvement in a particular project
  • Competence in therapeutic handling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Caseload management skills - especially identifying priorities and meeting deadlines

Personal Circumstances

  • This post will require working in Community settings across North Cumbria and therefore include travel to these sites.
  • Some flexibility in work pattern may be necessary.

Other Requirements

  • Post graduate therapy experience in a multi disciplinary team
  • Previous use of a computer based data collection system
