Packing Technologist

Cranswick Poultry Added Value is a specialty producer of delicious, cooked poultry ingredients and is a leading innovator in the industry. We create exciting, original products that meet the needs of today’s busy consumers.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the innovation, development, and industrialization of packaging for Cooked Poultry and Prepared Poultry Hull.

Currently, we are looking to hire a Packaging Technologist to join our busy NPD (New Product Development) team.

The key elements of the role are:

1. Creating critical time paths for the packaging process for new product launches and amendments to existing lines.
2. Ensuring keyline drawings for new trays are fit for purpose and presenting them to NPD, Sales, and Operations teams for approval ahead of launch.
3. Considering Second Nature targets when looking at new packaging projects and opportunities.
4. Submitting customer packaging request forms and verifying correct packaging information for artwork to begin.
5. Coordinating the approval of all artwork from the artwork house through to the printer.
6. Working closely with suppliers on any new packaging innovations and communicating to the business.
7. Maintaining good working relationships with all packaging suppliers.
8. Requesting and reviewing the costs of new product packaging and passing them onto the Sales and Planning/Purchasing Team.
9. Checking and testing new packaging as it arrives on site for the first time to ensure it conforms to standards agreed.
10. Setting up new Factory QAS’s for all Retail products for the High Risk and Despatch Departments.

A driver’s license is essential as the role requires travel between the Cranswick sites.
