Days - Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm alternates each week
Rate of Pay: 12.33 per hour

Here in Consett, we have a team of around 280 colleagues. We produce a range of chilled ready meals for some of the UK's leading retailers, including Co-op, Sainsbury's and Weight Watchers.

What you'll be doing

In this role as a Packing Operator, you will work in our packing area. In Packing, you will perform regular quality checks to our finished products, making sure they are completed to a high standard and preparing them for Despatch. Tasks will involve:

1. Operating the machines in line with related safety and quality procedures
2. Regular checking on labels, coding and packaging to ensure all products are packed to customer specification
3. Assess and report anomalies and issues
4. Putting sleeves onto finished ready meals
5. Quality checking final products, making sure it's a high quality and the correct marketing has been used
6. Preparing pallets for Despatch

What we're looking for

Full training will be provided if successful in this role but we are looking for the following knowledge and experience:

1. Experience working within a food manufacturer preferred
2. Good Literacy and Numeracy skills
3. Problem solving skills
4. Good communicator and ability to work in a team
5. Allergen awareness
6. L2 Food Safety is preferred but not essential
