Packhouse Operator Job - Packing/bagging potatoes - Forklift driver - Essex

Responsibilities:

1. Operating potato grading equipment.
2. Forklift work loading boxes into and out of store.
3. Bagging and light maintenance.
4. Working as part of a team of 5 staff members packing 4000 tons of potatoes for the London wholesale markets.
5. Packing potatoes in 4kg and 25kg bags (25kg bag stacking is largely automated).

Work Schedule:

Packing runs from November to July, with harvest occurring in September-October.

Normal working hours: 8am-1pm, 2pm-6pm, 5 days a week.
Harvest hours: 8am-8pm, 7 days a week (harvest average is 19 working days).

Packing/grading shutdown is generally mid-August to early September, with general farm work available, although holidays could be taken.
