Outreach & Future Talent Manager

In support of a globally positioned and OE manufacturing organisation based in Worcester, we are seeking a professional and organised individual whose focus will be on ensuring that the Company continues to attract and develop local talent to realise their full potential.

The role is equally demanding and rewarding, working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the business needs are met. A passion for and experience of working with the next generation in this role is essential.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the responsibilities for this role are as follows:

  1. Developing relationships with educational establishments and representing the Company at associated careers events.
  2. Identifying and reviewing current and future talent pathways with management.
  3. Managing and delivering the Company's award-winning Industrial Cadets scheme and other ad hoc work experience weeks.
  4. Promoting the Company's outreach activities and talent development success stories through social media.
  5. Managing the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and interns.
  6. Reviewing existing talent with departmental managers to ensure that individuals are on track and planning interventions where necessary.
  7. Managing existing talent in the talent pool such as apprentices, graduates, interns etc.
  8. Managing internal and external awards ceremonies.
  9. Representing the Company at various networking events such as West Midlands Apprentice Ambassador Network (WMAAN) and Worcestershire Employment and Skills Board.
  10. Organising and hosting internal and external STEM related factory tours and events.
  11. Budget control and management.
  12. Managing the Apprenticeship DAS system to ensure funding and levy requests are handled promptly.
  13. Develop and report on KPIs to demonstrate the impact of outreach and other associated activity.

  3. Excellent organisational skills.
  4. Experience of working with and motivating emerging talent.
  5. Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
  6. Proven experience of delivering ROI.
  7. Budget management exposure.
  8. Excellent presentation skills.
  9. Ability to manage a small team and work across all internal departments as well as support external engagements.

Desirable criteria:

  1. Experience from within a manufacturing environment.
  2. Knowledge of various apprenticeship and graduate pathways.
  3. Existing relationships with apprenticeship and graduate providers.
  4. CIPD Level 5 Certificate / Diploma in Learning and Development or from a teaching background.
