The role

Are you a Newcastle University student graduating in 2025 or a graduate from 2024? We are recruiting for our 2025-26 Outreach Ambassador Team!

Outreach Ambassadors support access projects outlined in the University’s Access and Participation Plan by delivering workshops and presentations to encourage young people from all backgrounds to consider higher education and apply to Newcastle University.

You’ll travel across the UK to visit schools, colleges, and Higher Education fairs, as well as support online and on-campus activities. In 2023-24, the team delivered 700+ activities to over 100,000 students across more than 400 schools in 50 counties.

As a recent graduate, you are the ideal person to speak about studying at Newcastle University. Your enthusiasm for higher education can inspire young people.

We invest in your development with an intensive training program throughout the year, enhancing your transferrable skills and broad experience.

Come and meet us

We invite you to our launch event:

  • When: 1500 – 1700, Wednesday 12 March 2025
  • Where: Lindisfarne Room, Hadrian Building

Meet current Outreach Ambassadors and Student Recruitment teams to learn more about the role and application process. Refreshments will be provided.

If you cannot attend, contact Jack Chamberlain, Student Recruitment Manager (Outreach), for an informal chat.

About you

We seek individuals with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, who are enthusiastic about higher education and motivated to inspire the next generation. You should be an engaging presenter, adaptable to different contexts and audiences, a team player, and independent with a positive, solution-focused approach.

PARTNERS students

We encourage applications from students and recent graduates who participated in the PARTNERS Programme. Please indicate this in your application.

And finally…

This role involves considerable travel; therefore, a full UK driving license is required. An enhanced DBS check will be necessary as the role involves working with children and young people. During term time, you will work from the office when not on visits, with opportunities to work from home during school holidays.

The role commences on Tuesday 29th July 2025 and runs until Friday 28th August 2026.

We will inform you of your application outcome by Friday 21 March 2025. Assessments and interviews will take place in the last week of March 2025.
