As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Outdoor Education Teacher to join our close-knit team at Acorn Park School located in Norwich.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Outdoor Education Teacher to lead and support outdoor learning experiences for students. This role involves designing and delivering experiential learning programs that promote environmental awareness, leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a skilled outdoor leader, and an advocate for learning beyond the classroom.

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities

  • To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies
  • To monitor, record and report on student progress
  • To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan
  • To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate
  • To take responsibility for coordinating the teaching, development, assessment, recording and reporting of subjects and areas of learning across key stages as agreed with the Headteacher
  • To devise, implement and review individual education plans, individual behaviour plans and other relevant individual plans in conjunction with other staff

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE Maths C/4+
  • Degree

Acorn Park is a school for 160 pupils, who all have a primary diagnosis of Autism. We run two curriculum pathways – Formal and Semi-formal. Our Complex needs pupils are on the Semi-Formal Pathway which is highly personalised from their EHCP. We have a mixture of Day and Residential pupils as we have 8 co-located pupil’s homes on our 30 Acre site in rural Norfolk. On site, we also have a large Forest School and Animal Care Farm along with play facilities, a sports hall and sensory rooms.

We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults.
