Oracle Payroll Functional Consultant

Full Time Permanent – 37 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Oracle Fusion Cloud ICT support team which provides a comprehensive range of ICT support, maintenance, configuration, enhancement and development services for the Council’s Oracle Fusion Cloud system.

The successful candidate will focus principally on providing Oracle Payroll support, configuration and development services working under the direction of the Oracle Lead (HR) Functional consultant. The role will also include opportunities to get involved in more technical aspects of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system.

As an Oracle Payroll Functional Consultant you will:

  • Have a high level of technical/functional competency and knowledge of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system especially relating to HR/Payroll and use your in-depth knowledge of payroll and Absence processes and the Oracle Fusion Cloud system to assist HR in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of the Council’s Payrolls.
  • Collaborate with HR, and where necessary, ICT internal, and external support teams, to troubleshoot and resolve HR and payroll related issues in a timely manner.
  • Review the quarterly Oracle releases and the year end Payroll release, supporting HR with the planning, testing and diagnosis of issues and advising on any new functionality.
  • Review and support HR with the planning, testing and configuration on new Oracle Fusion Cloud functionality.
  • Configure, test, and deploy changes for Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll and HR modules following the corporate change management process.
  • Support, modify and develop new and existing integrations using technologies such as Oracle Integration Cloud and APIs.
  • Assist in designing and implementing payroll workflows, data validation rules, elements, fast formulas, absence setup configuration and reports.

You will have:

  • A relevant degree; or the ability to demonstrate through extended experience and/or training the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
  • Proven experience in UK payroll operations with a deep understanding of payroll cycles, tax regulations and compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present information to customers at all levels.
  • An ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritising work in order to meet strict deadlines.
  • An ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of different internal and external stakeholders.

The following is desirable:

  • Experience in Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional configuration (e.g. earnings/deductions setup, fast formulas, and eligibility rules).
  • Knowledge of other Oracle HCM modules and/or of Oracle Fusion cloud PaaS infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of integration platforms and techniques, such as REST APIs or SOAP Web Services.
